Smartphones - How They Work

A smartphone is more like a mini computer that can also place and receive calls and have apps that  turn your phone into something much smarter than a regular cell phone.

It is a mobile device that performs many of the functions of a computer, typically having a touchscreen interface, Internet access, and an operating system capable of running downloaded applications

It is a device that differs from you regular phone as it lets you make calls, but also includes features that were found only on a personal digital assistant or a computer such as the ability to send and receive e-mail and edit and view Office documents.

Before the coming of the smartphone , there were cell phones that were used for making calls, while devices like the Palm Pilot, were used as personal digital assistants or portable organizers that could store your contact information and could synchronize data with your computer.

Smartphones, have changed the way we communicate because of their multiple features: calling, texting, emailing, taking photos, listening to  music, watching videos, playing games, net surfing and many more.

A smartphone, is smart to the extent its operating system and mobile software work together which is not always the case when the wireless device freezes up.

One key feature of smartphones is the application processor that enables the devices to run the applications that are often so impressive.

A smartphone is a mobile device that contains a number of hardware components, and there are many different ways of putting them together and would need a chip to connect with the 3G network, and other communications options for Bluetooth, GPS functions, and Wi-Fi, and a separate graphics processor, along with memory for the operating system, applications, and user data. 

Smartphones come equipped  must have apps like the Google Maps app for example that makes it easier for one to navigate and find you way out in unfamiliar surroundings.

The device makes it easier to make video calls, connect to social media and messaging with apps like skype, facebook, twitter and whatsapp.

Smartphones comes with a variety of apps regardless of the operating system that covers everything from business to entertainment depending upon individual requirements.
