Smartwatches - How They Work

smartwatch can be described as a mobile device with a touchscreen display that is designed to be worn on the wrist for daily use.

It comes with an a compatible smartphone app that provides for management and telemetry such as long-term bio monitoring.

Smartwatches have become popular among gadget lovers as more companies that are manufacturing smartwatches including the traditional watch companies due to its large market.

What is it that makes smartwatches different from other gadgets so you can decide you should buy one or not.

Are smart watches worth buying when the primary function of a watch  is showing you the time.

In case of a smartwatch, the most important function is to show you the notifications and you will have a quick access to them.

It allows you to read a message that you receive or checking out a social media notification without picking up your mobile phone.

If you are busy and spend a lot of time outdoors, it is normal to miss a call because the ring sound and the vibration was not enough for you to know while on the go.

Smartwatches gives you an indicator or a vibration when someone calls you or texts you.

It also gives you the option to decide whether to pick the call or leave, by just looking at the watch.

Smartwatches have a pedometer that lets you count the steps, so you can exercise every day to meet your goals.

It analyses your sleep data that shows you how much you have slept every day so that you can make necessary adjustments to your sleep timings to get a good nights sleep.

You can make calls even though the volume is quite low. You can send text messages as well as read them.
Despite the screen size, your smartwatch can be used to view videos.
and it allows you to connect the earphones too so that you can listen to music as well.
A smartwatch can change the dial or watch face every day according to your preferences.

It shows you the map and GPS enabled smartwatch allows you to travel  with convenience.

One of the biggest problems with smartwatches is that the batteries within them do not last long before you have to charge them and the average battery life is not a week to ten days.

They are able to provide a lot of data regarding your exercise and fitness but many smartwatch tests shows that the data is not accurate.

The steps calculator and heart rate sensors are not known for correct readings in a smartwatch that includes the sensor feedback and analyzing the data.
As we get a lot of notifications everyday, we might feel that everything is cramped together in a small space of a smartwatch display.

When it comes to watching movies and navigation, it may become an extra effort for your eyes and better don’t use these features if you have eye problems.
Smartwatches appear to be making your life easy but you can definitely live without it.
It is not something which you have to go back and get if you forgot to take it and it works in sync with smartphones and it can never replace a mobile phone.

Most of the smartwatches are water proof, but the bands are likely to get damaged if you are constantly using it in water.

This is not really a problem but your main purpose is to track fitness, then it is a better option to buy a fitness band which is a cheaper alternative than a smart watch.
